Make Your First Day in Puerto Rico Easier

A 2 p.m. landing can turn into 3:30 before bags, restroom stops, and airport signs are out of the way. At Target Rent A Car, you can line up a car rental that suits the way you actually plan to spend your first day. Skip the rush. Don’t try to cram everything in. Pick up the car, settle in, and leave time for a beach view, a good meal, or your hotel check-in.

Start With a Vehicle That Fits Your Arrival

Two people carrying backpacks don’t need the same vehicle as five relatives with strollers, coolers, and three large suitcases. Tell us who is riding, what you are bringing, and where you expect to drive. We can point you toward a car with the right amount of room. Day one might mean city streets or a longer ride across the island.

• Compact cars: A practical pick for light packers, couples, and plans centered around town.
• Roomier rides: SUVs, minivans, passenger vans, and trucks leave more space for larger groups, luggage, or beach gear.

Airport Pickup Made Easier

Forty-five minutes can disappear quickly at baggage claim, especially when a flight arrives with a full cabin. Take the time you need to collect your bags, find your bearings, and connect with our team before heading out. We handle airport pick-up and drop-off. You can look over rental details before arrival day gets busy. Questions about coverage, agreements, or a change in plans? Our FAQs spell out the basics in plain language.

1. Build in a buffer: Leave extra time for baggage claim, traffic on the tarmac, or a delayed flight.
2. Keep documents handy: Having them within reach cuts down on the back-and-forth at check-in.

Leave Room for Food, Essentials, and a Flexible First Stop

A cold bottle of water and something to eat can make a huge difference after several hours in the air. Keep the first stop simple, preferably near your hotel or rental. There will be time for the rest. When you feel ready to head out, use the car to explore Puerto Rico, whether that means Old San Juan, a rainforest drive, or an unplanned afternoon by the coast.

• Arrival-day pacing: Pick one easy thing to do first, then see how the day unfolds.
• Local exploration: Stay flexible. You decide when to stop, where to eat, and how far to drive.

Target Rent A Car gives you transportation that works with your arrival instead of forcing a tight schedule. Get out of the airport and start enjoying Puerto Rico on your own time. Call us at (787) 257-8452 or contact us to get started.
